"Oh Clikey, a camwa!!"

Plums joined the band in 2003 after being filmed talking to Torchie at a Railway gig. He felt so embarrassed he says he joined to prevent this picture going public...

Japanese Tap dancer and plumber... Tappa-LikiThe truth is he had been banned from Japan after his infamous flop in the Japanese version of the "Tappy-Dancing Elephant- Man"... and hates to be seen. He still maintains his ability to create a cunning disguise however, as captured on this picture.. "Wa U wan wiv me? Now I tappy in my new filmy"

Born in England during the worst of the 80s New Romantic movement, the Artist Formerly Known as Tappa went to Japan to learn percussive Tap-Dancing, but become a Plumber by trade, Plummer by name.

He began learning drums at age 11 in a Japanese secondary school. Because of his height, he was allowed to miss maths for fear of upsetting his peers, who all looked up to him as a and affectionately called him their 'Long-Peer'

One of the first sightings of Tappa behind a conventional kitHis percussive career began in school'Sushi' bands, where at 15 he joined the Ken Hom Four - a 4 piece wok-outfit with 2 older, white-eyed mentors and 2 young Samarai tap-dancers.

Next he joined original band,'Plalaphlernalia' playing original material gigging in East Pa-Nango, and travelling in an old British Rover 90 with Kamakasi doors.

Back in England, he developed a passion for jazz/latin in a five-piece band called 'Blistol Fashion' who later became the 'Slol Agents'

Being a family website we can't say anything about any female singers but in his endeavour, the Julie Cooper Band, he...
"left them on 31.12.02 and am proud to have spent so long growing up with some of the nicest people I have ever known - their wives…….."

Plums is top left.... and we all think he looks yummy scrummy...

Tappa also briefly joined the extremely humble PhilPlum's best mate, 'One Short Something...' who goes wherever he plays... (SAD eh?) Hilborne - and more recently One Short. (although one short what has yet to be decided)
Plums simply loves gigging, andyou can always catch him with Dicky Hart & the Tickers - every last Sunday of the month at The Swan in Hatfield Peverel.

Tappa
has also done session work - radio jingles, singles that never made it etc - and worked with Chas & Dave, Stan Boardman, Cheggers & Maggie Philbin, Richard Digance, Les Dennis, Duncan Norville, Mike Read and a whole host of other ' celebrities' whose identities must remain secret lest Tappa has to show you his sword...

His diary reads..."One fond memory I have is sayingMike Read... one of life's finest.. "Fuck you, Arsehole" to Mike Read, who just as he was walking onstage, said "Out of the way sunshine" in his usual annoying east-end lilt. What he didn't know was that I was in the band just about to back him - needless to say, he won't be employing my services again…….."

He's also played with the likes of Albert Lee and Gary Moore - for a Guitarist Magazine night at The Forum, luckily in front of an audience of guitarists...

Outside the band, he admits life has taken a turn for the worst since those Elephant Man days, and he had to join SAD as a last step to oblivion..

To add insult to injury, he has even had to change his family name from 'Tappa' to 'Plums on Drums' in order to avoid any future threats from certain sauces. (HP, Brown and Red Sauce and the Band themselves of course.)
